Education

At Canalside, we believe the future of music and live events depends on the people coming up now — and we’re committed to supporting that next generation.

Our education programme is all about access, upskilling and real-world experience. Whether you're a student, early-career creative, or someone looking to learn more about the industry, we want to help you build confidence and develop your craft.

What We Offer

We’re developing a mix of learning opportunities shaped by our community and guided by working professionals. These include:

  • Workshops & Seminars on topics like sound engineering, event production, tour management, and DIY releasing

  • Mentorship Placements for students and emerging professionals — including hands-on roles with live shows, tech crews and touring teams

  • Collaborative Projects with universities and colleges, including Leeds Conservatoire, Leeds Beckett and others

Real Pathways, Real People

We’ve already seen former mentees go on to tour internationally as merch managers, techs, and tour managers — and we’re proud to have been part of that journey.

Everything we do is grounded in lived experience and a DIY, people-first approach.

Want to Get Involved?

We're currently building this side of the programme — but if you're a student, educator, or artist keen to get involved, we want to hear from you.
