We are a community-led music space located alongside the canal, on the edge of Leeds City Centre.

Created by and for people who are passionate about making noise, sharing ideas, collaborating, and building something meaningful together, Canalside exists to support creativity at every level. Our space brings together artists, bands, promoters, producers, and audiences, providing the facilities and environment needed for music and culture to thrive.

Canalside operates as a grassroots organisation and is registered as a Community Interest Company (CIC). This means we are a not-for-profit organisation with no shareholders, reinvesting everything we generate back into the space and the community we serve. Our team is made up of artists, organisers, and dedicated music enthusiasts who are committed to keeping music accessible, affordable, and artist-focused. Our mission is to remove barriers, support emerging talent, and provide a sustainable home for independent music and creative expression in Leeds.

Canalside Community Music Space is currently in Phase One of an ongoing, long-term project. This stage focuses on establishing essential facilities including live venues, rehearsal rooms, and recording spaces, creating a strong foundation for future growth. As we continue to develop, our vision includes expanding our creative facilities, supporting more artists, and delivering new opportunities for collaboration, performance, and community engagement.
